Creating Messaging that Resonates: Using the Findings from The Nature of Americans Report
Instructor: Dave Case
It’s no surprise that Americans are spending less time outdoors and more time indoors connected to a device. But, what does that change mean for our health and well-being? In 2015-16, Dr. Stephen Kellert and DJ Case & Associates conducted a national survey to better understand and foster Americans’ relationship with nature. Join Dave Case as he shares the results from his study -- results that are prompting nature conservation, environmental education, and outdoor recreation leaders to rethink how they work to connect people with nature. The recommendation’s core premise is that connection to nature is not a dispensable amenity but, rather, is essential to the health, economic prosperity, quality of life, and social well-being of all Americans. Learn how land trusts can use the recommendations to fine-tune their communications strategy to engage more members more strongly.
