Partnering with the Military to Enhance Conservation: An Introduction to the REPI Program
Instructor: Jake Bradt
What do promoting our Nation’s defense and conserving natural resources have in common? You! For over 14 years, the Department of Defense (DoD) has played a vital role in helping to sustain vital open and working lands for future generations, partnering with land trusts nationwide to protect over 500,000 acres in the vicinity of military installations and ranges through the Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program. Join representatives from DoD to learn about the REPI Program and opportunities to partner with the military to not only meet your conservation objectives, but also promote land uses compatible with the military mission. With an emphasis on in-depth case studies, this webinar will highlight lessons learned from land trusts who have successfully partnered with the military. Participants will learn about opportunities to leverage funding from the REPI Program with other Federal funds and gain a new appreciation for the impact that their organization can have in promoting lands, livelihoods, and national defense!
